RAE RECINOS (she/they)

is a Guatemalan- and Honduran-American Illustrator, Designer, Writer, with experience in comics and hand lettering. Since the third grade, when they wrote and illustrated “How to Clarinet,” visual storytelling has been how they’ve made sense of the world, and it is how they hope to help others make sense of it, too.

Their work hopes to investigate boundaries—between culture, aesthetics, technology, genre—and bring a proverbial spotlight to the experiences that exist between and across these spaces.

Like their skillset, Rae’s interests in book design are wide-ranging: from picture books and graphic novels to adult trade projects, particularly literary fiction, horror, and fantasy. They are open to illustration and design freelance work—contact them via email at raearecinos@gmail.com or via Instagram, @raescreating.
